| The Arkansas Valley Art Center is a county-wide non-profit organization, dedicated to promoting the love of and participation in the visual arts. We host a series of art shows throughout the year in our brand new gallery and teaching facility, located within the Colorado Mountain College campus in Buena Vista. |

Welcome to the Arkansas Valley Art Center’s web site. If you are a newcomer to the Arkansas Valley Art Center organization I hope that you enjoy what you see and become a regular at our exhibitions at the Art Center Gallery.
The Gallery is a beautiful space and most of our shows there are accompanied by a member’s show, a wonderful resource for artist members. Look for delivery dates in the newsletter. I have been here in the USA for 2 ¼ years now from London England. I quickly became an artist member of the Art Center. It has been a great pleasure to meet everyone concerned and to be able to use the Gallery and it has helped me to raise my profile as a new local artist. The Art Center can do the same for you.
The coming year will be very exciting and I am grateful to everybody who has worked so hard to get us to where we are today. We are well established in the Art Center at the Colorado Mountain College now. The space, as I said, is working well as an Art venue and the shows to date have been diverse and interesting. We are planning a sensational Hearts in Art in January and February. This is our biggest fund raiser and depends on all of you, the members, to pass the word on to all your friends. You will not want to miss this if you love Art, it will be a lot of fun.
Our Open Awards Show each summer will, I am sure, present us with excellent work of all media including some, I hope, wonderfully surprising as last year. This is a wonderful opportunity for new artists over 18 years of age. Don’t forget to check the details in our newsletter. One other plan in the future is to introduce a great program of children’s workshops sometime next year. We hope to enable more children to find enjoyment and confidence through Art. Our Children’s workshop director presented a great fun day for the kids last Art Walk. All in all a most exciting time to be a member of the Arkansas Valley Art Center. We hope you will agree.
