    May 16 - June 27, 2009

The Arkansas Valley Art Center is presenting four talented Native American women in a show that opens on Saturday, May 16th.

America Meredith is a painter from the Cherokee Nation. Heidi BigKnife, from the Shawnee tribe, is a jeweler and does collages. Kelly Church weaves Ojibwe baskets of black ash and is from the Grand Traverse Band of Chippewa and Ottawa. Linda Lomahaftewa makes abstract prints and is Hopi and Choctaw. The entire show is coordinated by talented print artist and AVAC member, Sallyann Paschall.

Their artwork has been shown all over the United States and we are very fortunate to have these nationally recognized artists displaying in the valley.

  • Open Awards Show

The annual AVAC members' award show is finally here! One of the largest regional displays of local talent, OAS never fails to provide top notched work from around Chaffee County. Awards will be presented between July 6-10, so join us for a congratulatory reception on Friday, July 10 from 5pm to 7pm, and listen in on the judge's critique, beginning at 6pm.
